Style Edit: Historic timepieces, the Cluse Minuit & Browns Family Jewellers

Browns Family Jewellers, Watch history, Cluse Minuit, Cluse watch, rose gold watch, grey watch, jewellers YorkshireWith its minimal and chic rose gold and grey design, have you ever seen a more perfectly designed watch for a blogger? I thought not… I was fortunate enough to be sent this perfectly instagrammable little beauty by Browns Family Jewellers, to celebrate the history of watch fashion and their beautiful range of timeless timepieces.

An Introduction to Browns Family Jewellers

For those of you who are not yet familiar with Browns Family Jewellers, they are a boutique jeweller based in the North West of England, with stores in Leeds, Mexborough, Barnsley, Sheffield and Halifax. They also have an online store offering next day delivery and 10% off your first order when you use code “FIRST10”.

As the name would suggest, Browns Family Jewellers is personal brand which has organically grown over the past 20 years. It has gone from strength to strength as a result of its personal touch and dedication to the customer experience, resulting in it becoming one of Yorkshire’s leading jewellers.

Browns Family Jewellers are one of the few jewellers who celebrate the functional evolution of watches, recognising that they go beyond being just a fashion accessory and instead offer practical solutions to some of our everyday problems. Not only do they keep us on track for our busy schedules, they now help us manage our diets, track our fitness and communicate with our contacts.

The timeline on the left highlights the huge impact and range of purposes that watches have had over the years. Starting with the Garstin watch in 1893 with its military roots helping personnel to  synchronise their manoeuvres to the Apple watch in 2015 which has a whole range of functions helping us manage our every day lives.

No matter your preference, be it a fashion statement or functional necessity, Browns Family Jewellers offer a wide range of watches including both modern and vintage and antique pieces. So whether you are tech savvy and in the market for an apple watch or are wanting to splash the cash on that luxury Rolex, they really do have something for everyone…

Cluse Minuit

As a technophobe fashion lover I was very kindly sent one of their Cluse’s Minuit watches, which is so in keeping with my style that I couldn’t have designed a more perfect watch!  I love its sleek and elegant face, which is perfect for casual, formal and more dressy evening looks.

I also love that it has an adjustable soft leather strap which is perfectly designed to fit small wrists. As someone with teeny tiny wrists I am forever having to have links taken out or extra holes put into the strap before I can wear my watches, so to be able to put a watch straight on was a bit of a luxury for me.

The Cluse Minuit arrived beautifully packaged in its very own leather pouch, which is really handy for keeping it protected. If (like me) you have a few different watches and like to mix them up depending upon your outfit, then the pouch is perfect for keeping it safe and scratch free when storing or transporting.

An added bonus is that you can buy alternative straps for the Cluse Minuit as it comes with an easy pop off design, meaning you can tailor your look without having to have a whole collection of watches. Definitely a cheaper way of styling since the alternative straps start at £26.96.

Are you a watch addict too? Do you have any of ‘the icons’ or are you a tech fashionista?

That is such a cute little watch! I absolutely love it! It’s a shame that I have my fitbit these days as it makes an additional watch unnecessary but a true watch always looks so much sleeker and nicer.
