You may have seen that I attended the #KiehlsYorkXmas blogger event which was filled with good food, cocktails, products and of course company! The event was held at the Kiehls store on Stonegate in York, a gorgeous building found amongst the historic cobbled streets of York more commonly known as “the Shambles.” The event itself couldn’t however have been any further from a shambles – being perfectly planned and executed from start to finish.
Rather than write another generic “New Years Resolutions” post about all of the things I want to change and do better, I thought I’d do things a bit differently this year. I decided to adopt a more positive approach in 2016, starting with identifying the six biggest things I achieved in 2015 and should be proud of.
So here we are amid the dark mornings, dark evenings and generally grim weather. If you’re anything like me by November you barely see the light of day and end up going to work in the dark and coming home in it. To make matters worse your desk is the furthest from a window you could possibly imagine and you can’t pop out on a lunch for fear of being soaked to the skin. So you progressively sink further and further into the deep depths of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), away from the light and the happy self you once were in the summer months.
As a coffee lover and caffeine junkie why would I ever want to consider the concept of detox tea? That first morning coffee holds my life in the balance and a gingerbread latte could literally save me from a fate worse than death. As a consumer of up to eight cups of coffee a day and someone who often replaces lunch with (yep you guessed it) more coffee, a welcome TeaTime detox was absolutely just what the Doctor ordered.
So last weekend saw me scurry down to London again to attend the Olympia Beauty Trade Show and Beauty Blogger Awards, an event I initially signed up for back in May/ June time and literally spent months looking forward to….. Was it worth the wait?
