In January I was really excited to announce that I had been approached by beauty experts SkinChemists to be one of their brand ambassadors for 2017. Being an avid skincare fan and having trialled (and loved) SkinChemists products in the past, naturally I eagerly accepted and couldn’t wait for January’s SkinChemists Rose Quartz Age Defence Youth Facial Oil * to arrive!
So why is it effective?
The SkinChemists Rose Quartz Age Defence Youth Facial Oil is designed to leave skin hydrated, illuminated and refined so was the perfect pick me up in January after a spell of seriously cold and miserable weather. It contains rose otto oil, vitamin E and almond oil, which help to restore moisture, protect against daily damage and generally brighten the skins appearance.
Rose oil has antibacterial and antioxidant properties which help to repair and protect the skin, whilst almond oil is nourishing and helps to rehydrate the skin. Vitamin E is a great all rounder when it comes to skincare, so is definitely an added bonus and skin booster in the SkinChemists Rose Quartz Age Defence Youth Facial Oil.
As you can see, the SkinChemists Rose Quartz Age Defence Youth Facial Oil comes in a 15ml pipette dispensing bottle which is perfectly sized for everyday use and also for travelling. It is pink in colour and has a really light texture and fragrance. I found that the Oil absorbed instantly, leaving zero residue and therefore making it the perfect base before moisturiser and make up is applied.
Previously when I have used facial oils, I have found that they leave an oily sheen, resulting in me living a nightmare trying to keep my make up in place and battling my skin looking like an oil slick. I do have quite oily skin anyway so for me shine is always a real struggle. I found that this SkinChemists Rose Quartz Age Defence Youth Facial Oil helped to balance my oil levels, leaving my skin looking radiant and dewy rather than greasy. I genuinely noticed a difference in the oil control of my skin from the very first application of this product, so would not hesitate to recommend it to others who have similar problems.
Aside from its light texture and consistency the SkinChemists Rose Quartz Age Defence Youth Facial Oil also has an amazingly light natural fragrance. I am not a fan of heavy floral fragrances in any form so would usually avoid rose products, however I loved the scent of this oil. It is so light and sweet and genuinely not what you might expect.
Who is it suitable for?
The SkinChemists website describes this product as being most suitable for those living in city or urban areas, who are concerned about fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation or who simply want their skin to appear more hydrated. I am fortunate in so far as I do not suffer from pigmentation (touch wood!) so I cannot really comment on the oils effectiveness in this respect, however I would agree that the fine lines on my forehead and around my mouth appeared smoother and my skin most definitely appeared healthier and more hydrated.
Overall it was a huge thumbs up for the SkinChemists Rose Quartz Age Defence Youth Facial Oil from me. I loved using it morning and night as part of my everyday skincare regime and will most definitely be ordering some more once this bottle runs out.
