For the past few months my Twitter newsfeed has been dotted with reviews of DrPAWPAW and as a blogger you sometimes wonder whether products are actually worth the hype or whether it has been a case of everyone jumping on the bandwagon with the “on trend” product.
Of course as a blogger our job is to pick up on those trends, capturing beautiful product images and posting imaginative yet informative posts. A simple task you may think, but when you see the same product being reviewed over and over by other bloggers you don’t wish to jump on mission overkill and distill the message.
So let me start by saying that the DrPAWPAW balm caters for the majority offering three shades – original (clear), coral pink and red. The coral pink and red balms can be used as lip and cheek tints whereas the original balm can be used to treat sunburn, nappy rash, chapped lips or as a hair conditioning treatment. The key ingredient in all of the balms is fermented paw paw which has natural healing qualities.
I personally opted for coral pink as I always find it to be a shade that compliments my olive skin tone, dark hair and eyes and has a great multi purpose tone suitable for everyday as well as all four seasons. I did use it a cheek tint but I have to be honest and say I wasn’t keen. The shade wasn’t quite dark enough for me and didn’t ever go into matte finish, it remained in a balmy consistency which just sat on top of my skin. For me personally I prefer my blush to be powder dry to touch so applying to my cheeks didn’t really work for me. However slight down side over….
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT AS A LIP TINT!
Its fabulous playful peachy pink colour left a long lasting glossy finish. The tone was subtle and resulted in a soft look that was perfect for everyday use. I sometimes find that lipstick gives a harsh angular finish, so the fact that this DrPAWPAW gloss added a little colour without looking too defined was perfect. During and after use my lips were really well conditioned, super soft and crack free which has resulted in DrPAWPAW being the first thing I pack in my bag anywhere I go now.
Without doubt this is one of my best beauty finds this year and an absolute handbag essential. Next stop has to be trying the other two I think!
Before I sign off, has anyone tried the original as a hair mask? I am a huge hair mask lover and intrigued to hear any thoughts….
